Born and raised in West Michigan, on a wildlife reserve by a pack of wolves I lovingly call my family, my two brothers and I enjoyed endless days running through grassy fields, camping in forests, and building rafts on quiet lakes. My parents encouraged us to be creative and to imagine great things for ourselves.
When I wasn't outside getting scraped knees, and black eyes, I was inside practicing ballet, jazz, baton, and the oboe. I was stuck somewhere between being a tomboy and civilized young lady. As I grew up, I always felt awkward, never sure where I belonged. In college I studied Criminal Justice. I told everyone that I wanted to be a lawyer, but really I just wanted to carry a badge and a gun. Alas, I don't look good in a uniform so I took a desk job in a courthouse.
As time passed, I felt I was missing something, not reaching my full potential. I needed a career in the arts. Acting was calling me, keeping me awake at night. From my cubicle, I planned my escape; I would go to New York! Oddly enough, my flight to the Big Apple was interrupted by a two year layover in Saint Louis, where I studied at Theatrgroup with Harry Governick. My journey has brought me to L.A. instead of N.Y. Life can be so strange, pulling a person in so many directions. I quit asking why; now I just go with it.
My life is headed in the direction I've always dreamed that it would. None of it would have been possible without the love & support of my parents, immeasurable support from the ever wonderful Don, honest and wise teaching from Harry, Peter's guidance in defining my goals & teaching me self-empowerment, and of course all of my dear friends who know me best.
May the wind, always be at my back.
